The European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) has today confirmed that a batch of fenugreek seeds and fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) to produce buds imported from Egypt for several European countries, including Spain, is the "common bond most likely" between outbreaks of E.coli O104 intestinal bacteria registered in Germany and France. The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture on Friday rejected such an extreme and said that the presence of this bacterium in Egypt "has not been proven at all," because, he said, there has been no case of E.coli in the country .
